Companies and investors from all sectors of the economy join LEAD. This includes both Ceres network members and non-members. We encourage companies and investors to bring C-suite executives as well as staff at all levels from sustainability, public affairs, and government relations.
There is a size requirement for participating businesses. While all Ceres network members can participate in LEAD, non-members must meet thresholds of $100 million in annual revenue for companies and $200 million in assets under management for investors to participate in LEAD. For smaller and medium-sized companies and investors that do not meet the threshold, contact Roxy Reisch at rreisch@ceres.org.
No. Ceres offers a virtual training and prep session with top issue experts, communications strategists, and Capitol Hill staffers, plus a comprehensive participant packet so you will have the tools you need to effectively advocate for your policy priorities on Capitol Hill. All meetings are scheduled and facilitated by Ceres staff.
When you register to attend LEAD, you will join dozens of leading companies and investors to push for the strong policy environment needed to meet rising energy demand affordably, boost American manufacturing, strengthen rural communities, and ensure U.S. leadership in the global industries of the 21st century. Throughout this three-day event, you will meet with key congressional offices from both parties, as well as White House and federal agency officials (schedule permitting). There will also be many opportunities to network with corporate peers, policymakers, and key partners at receptions throughout the week, including the annual Ceres BICEP Network Awards Dinner and Reception. Ahead of LEAD, you are encouraged to attend the virtual training and prep session and review the participant packet, which includes detailed meeting guidance and messaging resources, so you will be well prepared to meet with lawmakers in March.
Policymakers want to hear directly from businesses in America that are affected by these issues. LEAD has always been a safe, big-tent space where companies and investors from every sector can advocate and achieve greater impact together. Whether you are a longtime champion or newer to federal advocacy, there is strength in numbers. LEAD provides access to policymakers and the tools you need to help your company shape the federal policy landscape.
Yes. We offer a range of sponsorship opportunities to highlight your company’s leadership on clean economy policy while gaining exclusive access to key policymakers and corporate partners.
No. However, we ask that you champion at least one of the core policy priorities during meetings with lawmakers and agency officials:
Permitting and transmission: Advance the buildout of affordable, reliable, homegrown clean energy by enacting permitting and transmission reform policies.
Surface transportation reauthorization: Drive the manufacturing and deployment of electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, and clean materials through the surface transportation reauthorization bill.
Agriculture and rural communities: Ensure federal agricultural policy includes investments in innovation, technical assistance, and enteric methane mitigation to strengthen America’s agricultural sector and rural communities.
You will meet with Congressional offices from the states and districts where your company or investment firm has a presence or other considerations such as the member's committee assignments. You can provide a list of your company’s or firm’s locations and interests when you register or by emailing the team to make sure you are matched with the most relevant meetings. Each meeting will include several LEAD participants and a designated facilitator from Ceres.
Yes, you may attend some or all portions of LEAD. We encourage you to hold time on their calendars and take part in as many meetings as possible.
LEAD advocacy meetings will be in-person only in 2026, with a virtual training and prep session the week before.
